Tzimon Barto at the Musikfest Berlin

Tzimon Barto starts his season 2017/18 with a concert at the Musikfest together with the Deutsche Symphonieorchester Berlin. On 8 September he can be heard in the Philharmonie with Rihm’s Piano Concerto No. 2, a composition dedicated to Tzimon Barto. The whole first part of the work is inspired by the “sensationally ‘risky’” pianissimo that is typical for Barto’s playing. The one-movement concerto is composed as a “musique fleuve” and demands virtuosity as well as singing interpretation of the pianist.
