Tzimon Barto performs in the Far East

On April 6th, Tzimon Barto will perform with Midori in Tongyeong, Korea. In their demanding program of works by Yun, Hindemith and Lieberman, the two present the timeless influence of Bach across the 20th and 21st centuries. In a morning concert for students, Tzimon Barto brings Gershwin’s music, a piece of his own cultural heritage, closer to his young Korean listeners.

On April 7th, Tzimon Barto also presents the Asian premiere of Wolfgang Rihm’s Piano Concerto (2014), dedicated to him, with the Tongyeong Festival Orchestra and Christoph Eschenbach. Barto travels with this same group on to Kanazawa, Japan, where on April 13th they again bring Gershwin’s Piano Concerto in F major to the stage. The mixture of styles and compositional techniques in Gershwin’s music demand from the soloist universal musicality and an artistically holistic approach, makeing the all-around talented Tzimon Barto its ideal performer and promises outstanding concerts.
